Morning Session: 10am – 1:00pm
We will spend the first half of the day tuning to the subtleties of the moving body, sensation as nonverbal communication and introducing the nervous system to disorientation. Partnering exercises will practice negotiating weight and modulating muscle tone which are two important aspects of moving with another body.
Lunch/ Snack Break: 1:00 – 2:00pm
Please bring food and drink. Water, tea and light snacks will be available.
Afternoon Session: 2:00 – 5:00pm
During the second session we will have time to experiment with weight sharing techniques that include the basic mechanics of falling and flying. We will also practice techniques for initiating and recovering from lifts and falls – how to keep a dance going and how stay safe while we challenge ourselves.
